I am planning to draw the comic by hand, ink it by hand, and scan it in. From there I will make a webcomic and host it for free. I believe this is the best option for me because I am most comfortable working by hand, and I worry that printing the comic may prove really difficult.
The tone I am going for is a semi comical kind of feel. But I want the tragedy to hit and the characters to be characters, but I want that lighthearted tone.
I want to go for a 3 episode possible arc, with the 3 main points of the story arc, or 3 episodes, self contained.
I have 2 ideas.
1. A story about kids who develop super kung fu powers and the ability to transform into gigantic monsters. I would have an episode showing the main character learn and control his powers, an episode where his learning translates to the battle, and a final battle, in which the hero would fail, learn and train, and then come back and win.
This could be a good comic. I could have some fun scenes where the main character tries their best to hide their powers, perhaps on the verge of transforming while in school in class. Another dynamic I want to add is that of a superhero, where perhaps their friends and family would be on scene or watching the events on tv and have no idea that it is the main character. For example the main character is transformed and is currently fighting a massive monster in the heart of the city (I'm thinking he transforms into a massive dungbeetle with ultra strength and armour. Mostly because being a dung beetle is not very badass while what he fights, and perhaps if he has a team, and they transform into dragons and whatnot) and his mother would be watching the battle on tv, even though the battle is taken place directly outside the house, and every impact almost crushes her house, and then after the battle the main character would turn back, and go home, and his mum would be none the wiser)
This could be good for a number of reasons. That direct character growth from the training is impactful, and the idea of a giant dungbeetle defending civilisation is pretty funny to me. There could be other heros as well, perhaps a team, or rivals.
There could also be drama in his normal life, such as bullies, etc.
2. Asia Man
at first it was an inside joke amongst my friends, but as I thought about it, it could make for a fun story. Asia Man is a cowboy style samurai dude who goes from place to place, saving the town, and leaving into the setting (or perhaps rising) sun. He is serious and to the point, and becomes embaressed if he is seen to be anything but the emotionless Asia man.
My idea for this story is Asia Man would have self contained episodes where he walks from place to place. Along the way he would gain companions and by the end he would have learnt enough to defeat a previously impossible enemy.
Asia Man is a hero, warrior of justice, and is completely good in every way, or at least, that is the face of the asia man. perhaps i could delve into why asia man does his thing, and where is he going?
I had an idea where the serious asia man would have to team up with personalties who would bounce off his, such as a non serious character, and a sarcastic character. Asia Man would take everything seriously and not understand the sarcasm.
For his enemy I planned for him to fight perhaps a Cowboy, and his dog, who is actually a posh british dog, and the mastermind of the whole operation.
I had an idea where Asia Man would track the Cowboy down, by defeating each of his henchmen one by one in each adventure until he is ready to fight Cowboy and Woof himself.
I am thinking of using the seriousness of Asia Man against him, for example being super serious about doing something really absurd, and have that dissposition of tone be funny, like a brutal epic fight against samurai to death in the heart of a storm using bouncy pink horse dick replicas.
I will take notes from old black and white samurai movies as a reference and I hope to copy that style with my drawings. My first idea is to include pitch black shadows like noir, and only for specific scenes or pieces of art, eg blood ti use colour on.
Every different locations would use a different colour pallete and that means I can keep each episode unique and eyecatching.

I also planned on a short film, but my plot was too difficult to write for in such a short time, and I do not want a repeat of my last short film with ambition. It was about dreams breaking into reality, a man trapped unsure if this is reality, maybe different dimensions, super powers and ascending to a god. It was a bit of a mess, and I had more ideas for my comics.
