My Photomation: Mid Production FINISH

Here is my photomation so far.

I had a lot of issues. First of all, my vision of a rubber duck proved to be a poor choice. For some reason a good rubber duck is a real modern day rarity, and I took hours and hours to finally find a rubber duck-which was not that good, but was the only rubber duck i had actually found that day, so I had no choice.

I was low on ideas. I had a few shots in mind, but without a duck I could not experiment, and so I have found myself a little bit screwed. Although now I finally have a duck I can now come up if some real and, actually possible shots, however I am really far behind and so I may have to push quality down to reach my deadline.

I have thought about music....I however am not 100% what I would like. I am going to figure out pretty soon. Sound effects are also a possibility, but until I get all my footage that is not the biggest issue.

Illustrator: Shapes And Graphs

Here is how you make a shape. I made a rectangle using the rectangle tool. I then opened the windows ribbon, and got down the swatches window, which allowed me to make my rectangle red. 

I then went on the effects ribbon, and went on the 3d tab, and the Extrude and Bevel. Using this I made it 3d, and could move the perspective as I pleased.

I then made a Pie Chart using the graphs window. I added the different percentages. I then using the 3d tools, I made it 3d. This is a technique used to make different information stand out more, using the illusion of perspective. As you can see, the black looks bigger because it is closer, and the dark grey is considerably smaller looking.

Primary And Secondary Research: Pros And Cons

Primary

Primary research is good because it is precise to the point. It is much better at getting the exact information you would like. However it is lacking because it takes more time to make, and the gather the information.

In subjects that do not have any research tied to them, this option is the best, such as making your own poster and asking the audience if they like it. There would be no secondary research to use because it is your on individual work.



Secondary

Here is a book I found stuffed full of information. This is an example of Secondary Research. I found many other books, but none were as helpful as this (or at least the ones I found.) It talks a lot about different core subjects of design, such as colour, typography, and many others.

Secondary research is good because it must much quicker and easier to find information. However this may not be specific information. You may have to plod through hundreds of different pieces of research until you find the specific information you need. For example this book had hundreds of pages. Finding that one page you wanted can be quite the chore. However luckily or me, I didn't need ultra specific information, and so this searching for one subject, helped me gather even more information.

However in subjects that have little to no research, this option is not a good idea, as there would be no secondary research o use.

Brush

This is the brush tool. It an be found in the banner, with a pencil like icon, stuffed between spot healing and clone stamp.

Brush lacks definition, but it is good for shading and to mimic graffiti. It blurs on the edges of the line, this can be used to shade. Brush and other related tools can also be made bigger and smaller using [ ] keys.

Here is a space worm thing, using only the brush. You can see how it lacks definition, and looks blurry.

 

There is a pencil tool in the same menu as the brush. It is more defined. Here is space worm again, but with the pencil tool.

I was hoping to have a figure, with no details and no outline. The details would then all be blood coming from wounds. I however did not think about showing the title or to present information. In it's current state the poster needs work, but I think it is coming along. I had to experiment a lot. I experimented with this blood style on animals and other people. My concept was a mix between the actor Michael. B. Jordan, and actually the head of a Lion. You can see this in the jaw. To practise the jaw on a human I practised with a stock image of a man with wrinkles, with shows the form of a shout more then a young person.

I hope to finish, and to add at least the title to the image

Poster Analysis 2

I always thought this poster was really cool. The majority of the poster is black, so the green is even more eye catching. The criss-cross beneath the egg also helps direct the audiences' eyes towards the egg. It also reminds me of ropes, or being bound, which for some people is quite scary.Because it is so mysterious, it draws in the audience. It's dark, and scary, and this shows the audience what they are in for. Because there is so little to this poster, each individual asset is more important. Less is more.










This poster is a farcry from the modern Harry Potter posters. It's clear to see this is a kids film. Almost every character is looking goofy, or comedically serious. All the characters are clear to see in the dark blue pallete, and everyone has a lot of light on their face so you can clearly see who they are, and to look friendly, well most of them. Unlike a lot of movie posters this poster uses all of the poster , rather then just the top half.

My (no longer) silent film, with sound!

This is my silent film, with added sound. It could do with some work, but I like the its I managed to finish.  

In film sound is actually very important. It's immersive, and adds more emotion to the film. For my film, it made certain scenes hit harder, such as the door closing, making the audience hear it's heft, and the Thief's  impact, which now sounds much more painful.

In other films, sounds are used. Music helps convey emotion, and sounds are used to help the audience be sucked into the film. Many sounds are are actually unrelated to what they are linked with on-screen, but the human eye, puts 2 and 2 together, and makes it work. Such as scrabbling at dust, that scratching, and then being shown a car skid on ice. The audience sees and hears it as sliding on hard ice, rather then dry dirt.

With no sound, the outside world could easily distract the audience, and many scenes would just not be effective, especially dialogue. Although a lack of sound in certain scenes actually can prove to be effective. But the reason for this, is because there is normally loads of sound bombarding an audience, and the lack of sound is different. Sound is way more important then many people realise. Sound is great.
